Universal Cooker Knob FAQ

We launched our universal cooker knobs in late 2014 and selling several hundred thousand through our distributors and on our web site there are a few commonly asked questions that help decide if they will work for you.

Will they fit my cooker?

From our web site we currently have approximately a 96% success rate. Most non fit issues involve gas appliances where they can sometimes have larger shaft sizes than we can currently handle in our existing design. Electric cooking appliances generally have 6mm or 1/4" diameter shafts so will almost certainly fit.

If replacing knobs on a gas cooker, please take a moment to check the gas taps are 6mm or ¼” or smaller prior to purchase.

If your gas tap shafts have a larger diameter, please contact us to help with a custom solution.

Almost all cooker knobs fit onto a shaft that looks like a cylinder with a flat on one side that makes the knob point in correct orientation. Our adaptors have 8 points of orientation adjustment. If thought of like a compass N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW.

So the most important point is to check the shaft diameter of the spindle.

My shaft looks more like a capital "I"

There are also some "Key Hole" style (primarily North America) shafts but our adaptors still fit them.

How do I select my configuration?

We often get asked questions like this....how can I select 10mm proud fit with a red indicator? Well you don't have to. Each knob comes with 5 shaft adaptors and the 2 indicator choices shown in the images. That means you can select the adaptor configuration and the colour of indicator when the pack arrives.

What if they don't fit or I don't like them?

We really do try to make the best replacement knobs available but there are some instances were they won't fit or aren't what the customer was expecting. In this case contact us and we will discuss the returns method so you will get a full refund of the purchase less the original delivery.
